Team gale why
As much crap as we give Gale, he would do anything to ensure the Capitol's destruction, even kill. And he does. He's devoted to the cause. He has convictions. For Gale, the rebellion's success comes first. Don't forget that it was Gale who assumed responsibility for District 12's survival after the end of the Quarter Quell. Even though he knew about Katniss' feelings for Peeta. That was a pretty upstanding thing to do, TBH.
So let's see how Peeta and Gale stack up to one another, shall we? Team Peeta I'm not going to lie to you, dear readers: Peeta would make an excellent boyfriend. Here are all the reasons to be TeamPeeta: He can bake. And they were all Katniss could dream about in "Mockingjay," so that has to count for something.
Even when it nearly killed him. Total: 1, Yeah, about that Gale can never live that one down. Sorry, buddy.
There is a reason that Katniss never noticed Peeta before she was thrown into the arena with him, or that nothing happens during the multiple nights they spend together in the same bed. His allure as anything other than a friend is, shall we say, lacking. To remind you: Katniss spent the better part of book one faking a romance with Peeta in order to win the Hunger Games and save both their lives.
She was faking, anyway; Peeta has always had genuine feelings for Katniss. Over the course of maintaining this fake relationship and plotting a rebellion, and fighting through a second Hunger Games, all of which happen during Catching Fire , Katniss realizes that she might care for Peeta, too. Or how those hands, which could set the most intricate snares, could easily entrap me. Her happy imaginary life — the one that would have happened had she never gone to the arena — revolves around him.
I was jealous of him before I even officially met you. Peeta says these sorts of things a lot — his primary appeal is the way that he can understand Katniss, because he was always obsessed with her and because he is the only other person who survived the Hunger Games. Katniss deeply admires him, and she, like any human, is eventually worn down by his constant affection.
She likes making out with him, too. Katniss is finally learning that kissing — be it Gale or Peeta — is really fun. I am his. Anything else in unthinkable. But honestly, I don't even need the gory details to be satisfied. He gives her bread. I love bread! Carbs are the way to a girl's heart. Thirdly, he saved her life. A lot. The only other character to rival Peeta's numerous examples of self-sacrifice is probably Jack Dawson of Titanic.
But then Jack freezes to death, which kind of puts a damper on the whole plan to elope with Rose. So Peeta wins! Then there's the fact that he's crazy talented. Peeta is super strong as a result of lugging bags of flour for his family's bakery, but he's also a talented painter as a result of decorating the bakery's cakes. He's so versatile and multifacted! Also, his talents are both related to food. I refer back to point 2. And finally, there's the tiny little fact that unlike someone , he doesn't play a role in Katniss' little sis' murder.
